| Hi,
I'm Cathy E. and I am the new
president of St. Paul Needleworkers. I thought
I would give you just a little background about
myself and after this hopefully the topics will
be more interesting.
I learned to do handwork from my
mom who always had some hand work to look
forward to when she was done with the daily
routine. She taught my sister and me to knit
and embroider while we were in grade school. At
that time the embroidery was stamped dish towels
and pillow cases. The stitches were stem,
outline and French knots.
I first tried counted cross
stitch in the 70's about the time my kids
started school. As they started to leave home I
had more time for myself and started to do more
stitching. Since joining St. Paul
Needleworkers I have tried more things such as
hardanger and blackwork. I enjoy learning
different techniques from other members.
My latest project is the Tiramisu
correspondence course. I am way behind the rest
of the group but am spending time each day
trying to get caught up. I am looking forward
to the upcoming year and hope that you are
also. Enjoy this beautiful spring weather we
are having and keep stitching.
Cathy
